About the "Include ME!" Movement

The children in Leadership L.I.V.E. created the "Include ME!" Movement in 2010 with the purpose to increase the inclusion of children with special needs. They designed yellow t-shirts with bold, black lettering that simply said "Include ME!". As a result of this movement, the youth in Leadership L.I.V.E. began to hear so many children expressing the need to feel more accepted and included that "Include ME!" became a universal language. Therefore, in 2011 they adopted the new "Include ME!" logo and became devoted to developing more inclusive schools and communities where all children could feel accepted and valued. They wrote the following that explains the purpose of "Include ME!":

We, the youth leaders of Pathways are children, whose purpose is to create a national movement that stirs young people like ourselves toward caring about the future of America. We will inherit this country and must be included, heard, and rise up as true leaders in that process. "Include ME!" is about uniting diversity, creating that voice, and making that difference!
