Pathways' Mentor Training Workshop

Become a Mentor

Pathways has designed a two-hour formal mentor training workshop that teaches all children how to understand and work with children having a broad array of disabilities. As a result of these efforts, thousands of hours of community service are now being performed by mentors who work with children with special needs, either one-on-one as a Home-Based Buddy, in group settings during recreational programs, and/or in life skills and community activities. Since January 2003, the mentor program in Montville Township has grown from 14 to over 1,200 mentors. In total, Pathways’ program has trained approximately 8,500 mentors throughout the state of New Jersey. Programs may differ in your area.
